Contest time - Well Done to the Band for competing in the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain held on the 9th March 2013. The Band played “Devon Fantasy” by Eric Ball, and came fifteenth.
The adjudicators were Brett Baker and Stephen Roberts.

Spring Concert…… a great time was had by all at the Spring Concert held on the 25th April 2013. A big thank you to everyone that attended the Concert raising an excellent £550 for the Band’s chosen charity for the evening, FORCE Cancer Charity.
Thank you to the Mayor for supporting the event, Mervyn Hayes from FORCE for saying a few words about FORCE, Margaret Allin for compering, Richard Beardon for conducting the Band and to those that helped with the refreshments and the raffle.

Bugle 2013…..Congratulations to the Band for winning the deportment class at the 89th West of England Bandsmen’s Festival at Bugle for the second year running and for bringing the Sir Charles Cottier Cup back to Okehampton. The Band also worked hard to win The John Batten Memorial Trophy for coming third place in the Fourth Section, playing Petit Suite De Ballet by Eric Ball.
Thanks to Richard for leading the Band, Val for ensuring that everyone was wearing the right uniform, Julie for bringing the shoe polish, Hannah for being the official Band hair stylist and to Tori for arranging the outside catering !

May Day celebrations …….started for the Band with the annual Lustleigh May Fair on the 4th May and continued the following day with the Rotary Club Duck Race at Simmonds Park in Okehampton. The cakes and tea at Lustleigh were excellent as usual, and the weather was kind across both days. Ashbourne Town Band who were visiting Devon also joined in the celebrations on the Sunday.
Congratulations from the Band to Alice and Alan Eccles on their wedding held at Lustleigh on the 6th July 2013. The band were delighted to be asked to play for Alice, Alan and their guests on their special occasion.
The weather was perfect, and thanks to Alice for the freshly made lemonade to cool the Band down !

Delabole Carnival .……………..thank you to the organising committee for inviting us again to the Carnival, and thanks for the refreshments provided. It is always an enjoyable carnival.
Belstone Fair .……………..the best view in Dartmoor (even with the Band in the way !).
A good evening was had by all at the 2013 Moretonhampstead Carnival held on Thursday 22nd August.
The band were very pleased to have been invited to play on the final day of the third annual Chagford Film Festival, which took place between the 23rd and the 28th September 2013.
A big thanks to those that braved the downpour to listen to the Band, who played music from films and shows.
Christmas 2013….Than you for supporting the many events that the Band undertook during the Christmas period including the annual Christmas Concert held on the 9th December. The Band were joined by the Training Band and Fairplace Mens Forum Choir for an excellent concert in a packed Charter Hall.
Remembrance Sunday…..Jo Ware and James Alexander played the Last Post at All Saints Parish Church, with Willow Chammings laying the wreath on behalf of the Band.
Okehampton Carnival…….the Band lead the afternoon Children’s carnival, complete with trophies.
First contest of 2014 saw the Band competing in the annual West of England Regional Championships, which were held on Saturday 8th March 2014 at the Riviera International Conference Centre, Torquay.
This year the contest piece was “Three Spanish Impressions” by Alan Fernie.
Well done to all that played and those that supported the Band on the day.
5th April 2014 - first official engagement of 2014 saw the band supporting the National Trust and Finch Foundry in Sticklepath, Devon, on another (not so) sunny day - nice to see the Band’s new official umbrella's in use for the first time !
Blue skies greeted the band on the 21st June 2014 at the 90th annual West of England Bandsmen’s Festival held at Bugle, Cornwall, as the Band won the Deportment Class for the third consecutive year.
The Band also performed well in the Fourth Section contest playing the Little Suite for Brass Band. Click here for more Bugle photos.
The band played at Mayday celebrations at Lustleigh and in Okehampton. Despite camera problems we do have a photo of a Band (ok not a Brass Band) and Jessica enjoying Lustleigh.

Double Winners !!!
Congratulations to Richard Beardon and the Band for a superb double victory at the West of England Bandsmen’s Festival on Saturday 20th June 2015.
The Band took first prize in the Fourth Section, playing Devon Fantasy by Eric Ball, as well as retaining the deportment cup for the fourth year running.

July 2016 - A few members of the Band help St .James Church, Jacobstowe celebrate the reopening of the Church following completion of a major renovation and excavation project.
BUGLE CONTEST 2016 - big congratulations to the Band for winning the Deportment prize for the fifth year running !!
And a well done for a well played second place in the main contest playing Mexican Fiesta (hence the sombreros) by R Hammer.
